About Syringa Sands

Syringa Sands private game farm (1,000 HA) is located in the malaria free Waterberg Mountain range in Limpopo province, it is a perfect destination for outdoor enthusiasts, hikers, mountain bikers and nature lovers. The self-catering cottage offers two equal size comfortably furnished bedrooms, both with a single and a double bed. All beds made with 100% cotton linen and down duvets in winter. Both rooms offer views of the undisturbed bush veld. The large modern open-plan living and kitchen area leads out onto a patio where you can enjoy a meal or appreciate the abundant bird life. The kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, gas stove, micro wave, fridge/freezer and coffee maker (no oven). There is a large fire place in the lounge area, especially nice in the cold winter months. The lounge has 2 large daybeds which could accommodate 2 more guests in case of need. Finally, there is a slate and granite bathroom (shower, basin, toilet) and a utility area with a washing machine, in addition there is a second toilet that can be entered from the outside. The outside braai area is the ideal spot to enjoy a sun downer while relaxing in the tranquil and peaceful surroundings.Wildlife, including kudu, eland, zebra and giraffe, roam the farm freely and the nearby wetlands are a haven for a variety of bird life. Syringa Sands is a working game farm and you may enjoy a tour of the endangered roan antelope breeding project, which the owners will gladly arrange. Explore the farm on foot or mountain bike, game drives are available on request. Syringa Sands game farm also offers a Bush Camp Site (max 8 people and no overlanders) at a distance of 2.5 km from the cottage. On site parking is available at the workshop which is attached to the back of the cottage. As we are tucked away in a tranquil but also remote location, you will travel about 45km on a dirt road, a higher clearance vehicle is recommend, especially in the rainy season and connectivity is intermittent.

Safari: Arrange for a game drive; visit the roan breeding program and feed the plains game in winter, generally a great photo opportunity.

Family friendly: Welcome nature loving and outdoors families - enjoy the walking trails, bring your mountain bikes or spend time fishing at the dam. Visit the Marakele NP and the Ann van Dyke Cheetah Center in the area.

Syringa Sands offers a comfortable stay in a great setting. We loved walking and riding bikes in the bush, and watching the game on our routes. The house is well equipped.

We loved the privacy of this comfortable cottage in the forest. The walking trails were great with an abundance of game species. We spent a week at Syringa Sands - enough time to relax, get walking fit and take in a game drive in the closeby Marakele National Park.
